- Build system: https://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/applications/tor-browser-build/
History
- Replaced the Orfox browser in 2019 with an official Tor Browser for Android based on Mozilla Fenix with Tor patches.
Why use it
- Reduces tracking and linkability when browsing; enables access where the open Internet is blocked (via bridges).
Safe use
- Use default security settings for best fingerprinting resistance; avoid additional add‑ons; configure bridges if Tor is censored; do not log into real‑name accounts when seeking anonymity.
Limits
- Some sites break or require captchas; media and downloads can be cumbersome by design; not intended for high‑resolution identity logins.
