Apps: KeePassDX
Last updated: September 17, 2025
What KeePassDX is an offline password manager supporting KDBX (v3/v4) with TOTP, attachments, and hardware keystore. Package: com.kunzisoft.keepassdx.
Why on Zer0
- Local-first credentials with zero mandatory cloud components.
- Strong crypto options and broad KDBX compatibility.
Safe use
- Use KDBX 4 with Argon2id (high memory/time) and AES-256.
- Enable auto-lock on inactivity; disable screenshots.
- Store database and key file separately; back up with Tool: zer0 backup or Syncthing.
- Keep an offline printout of emergency credentials if policy allows.
Limits
- Sync is external by design (e.g., Syncthing); manage conflicts.
- Losing both database and backups results in data loss.
